MRT

Prior to taking any mathematics courses below the level of Calculus II (MATH 129), MATH 160, or MATH 263, all students must take the University of Arizona Math Readiness Test (MRT). This requirement includes transfer students with or without college level mathematics credit and students with credits by examination such as AP or CLEP. There are no exceptions.

Walk-In Testing Schedule

You may walk in to start testing anytime between the hours listed below.

SPRING SCHEDULE

January 2nd - May 16th
Walk-In Testing every Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30 - 12:00.
OR by appointment.

SUMMER SCHEDULE

May 19th - July 31st
Walk-In Testing:
Tuesdays 9:00 - 10:00
Thursdays 1:30 - 3:00.
OR by appointment.

 

  • Please be aware of the following:
  • Bring your photo ID. 
  • The $20.00 fee for the test is charged to your UA bill.
  • Battery-operated calculators are allowed but not required. 
    Exceptions
    - calculators with symbolic manipulation capability are not allowed (such as the TI-89, TI-92 and Casio CFX-9970

Students are not permitted to take the Math Readiness Test A or B more than once in any three month period.

The MRT is given during Freshman and Transfer Orientation, as well as during Open Testing hours at the Testing Office in the Old Main Building Room 223.
