MRT

Prior to taking any mathematics courses below the level of Calculus II (MATH 129), MATH 160, or MATH 263, all students must take the University of Arizona Math Readiness Test (MRT). This requirement includes transfer students with or without college level mathematics credit and students with credits by examination such as AP or CLEP. There are no exceptions.

You may walk in to start testing anytime between the hours listed below.

SUMMER SCHEDULE
Walk-In Testing

May 19 - August 15
Tuesdays 9:00 - 10:00
Thursdays 1:30 - 3:00.
You can walk in any time during these hours.

OR by appointment.

 

FALL SCHEDULE

August 20, 21 & 22
2:00pm - Test begins at 2:00, so please arrive 10 minutes early.
Location: CESAR CHAVEZ BUILDING ROOM 110

 

  • Please be aware of the following:
  • Bring your photo ID. 
  • The $20.00 fee for the test is charged to your UA bill.
  • Battery-operated calculators are allowed but not required. 
    Exceptions
    - calculators with symbolic manipulation capability are not allowed (such as the TI-89, TI-92 and Casio CFX-9970

Students are not permitted to take the Math Readiness Test A or B more than once in any three month period.

The MRT is given during Freshman and Transfer Orientation, as well as during Open Testing hours at the Testing Office in the Old Main Building Room 223. For information on the MRT testing schedule contact us directly at (520) 621-7589 M-F 8am-12pm and 1-5pm.
